Jim Stephenson
Director & Co-Founder
Jim is a Nature-based Solutions (NbS) finance specialist with 18 years’ experience in consulting, enterprise development, investment and implementation in Asia-Pacific, Africa and Latin America. He leads Terranomics’ international project portfolio, ranging from developing large blended finance programmes, to supporting nature-positive MSMEs become investor-ready, alongside strategy and policy work for corporates, financial institutions and NGOs.
As an Assistant Director at PwC he led the development of a number of business areas for the company including Sustainable Agriculture, Conservation Finance and the Green Climate Fund, eventually leading the Sustainable Land-Use team. A forest ecologist by training, he started his career as a field researcher for the World Agroforestry Centre in Tanzania then managed a programme of agroforestry investments across East Africa. Jim has also worked in Asia-Pacific heading up the climate change programme of RECOFTC-The Center for People and Forests.
Jim was the Chairman of the international youth enterprise NGO Teach A Man To Fish from 2013-2023.
