Tom is an environmental resource management and conservation finance specialist with seven years of experience in consulting, project management, programme design, proposal development, and research across the UK, Asia-Pacific, Africa, and Latin America.
At Terranomics, Tom has worked on several UK projects exploring emerging financing mechanisms for ecosystem services provided by woodland, peatland, wetland, and soil and hedgerow habitats. This includes projects from the Natural Environment Investment Readiness Fund and Landscape Recovery. Tom has led the development and project management of Concept Notes and Proposals for international projects for a range of multilateral organisations, including the GCF, GEF, and GFCR. He has also been the lead analyst on assignments identifying bankable coastal/marine and sustainable land use projects for impact investors, NGOs, and private investors across Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America.
Before joining Terranomics, Tom was a Senior Technical Officer at CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project). At CDP, he contributed to developing the Forests questionnaire and guidance, which provides a reporting framework for companies to eliminate commodity-driven deforestation from their supply chains. As part of this initiative, Tom led a project collaborating with NGOs, investors, consultancies, and companies to enhance sustainability in palm oil supply chains.
Tom holds an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College, specialising in Environmental Resource Management. His dissertation, which received a distinction, focused on the barriers and challenges to the emerging conservation finance market. Additionally, Tom is a Certified Associate in Project Management, accredited by the Project Management Institute.
